Excess

The excess is the first amount payable by the client towards the cost of a claim for own damage. The excess is an uninsured loss.

Each policy sold will attract different excess depending upon the driver details and the level of cover opted for by the client.

COVER EXCESS

Third party There is NO excess.

The client has No Own Damage Cover.

Fire & Theft £100 For a majority of policies. Selected policies may have a higher excess

No additional excesses are applied.

Comprehensive Variable policy excesses apply. The client has a choice of excess of between £0 - £750, depending upon the panel member.

A high excess reduces the premium.

Additional excesses may also be applied.

Age Excess Age excesses apply to drivers under 25.

Age excesses apply in addition to the policy excess.

Drivers under 21 Car Excess + £300

Drivers 21 – 24 Car Excess + £200

Licence Excess Licence excesses apply to drivers over 25.

Provisional Licence Car Excess + £150

Full UK licence, held for less than 1 year Car Excess + £150

Only the highest excess will apply. For example, an 18 year old with a provisional licence, will attract a driver excess of £300, and not £450.

Age and licence excesses only apply when the penalised driver is driving the vehicle. It would not apply in theft incidents or in accidents where older drivers were driving.

Window Glass Only £75 fixed excess.

Sound Equipment Only £100 maximum excess.

The policy excess will apply if it is less than £100.

The excess is paid by the client directly to the repairer, or Autoglass, at the settlement of the claim. If the car is to be written off the excess amount is deducted from the market value of the car.
